MASERU-Mzamane Fc head coach Liteboho Ramantsoe expressed his frustration with the referees following their 2-1 loss to Liphakoe Fc in a Vodacom premier league match at Ratjomose on Saturday.
In a post-match interview, coach Ramantsoe accused the referees of unfair decisions that cost his team the game “Our player was kicked by Liphakoe Fc ‘s goalkeeper and the referee ignored it. Also, Liphakoe scored an own goal but the referee called it offside so we have no control over such decisions. The people on yellows shirts [referees] are doing this on purpose.” He said
Despite the loss the coach praised his team’s performance “Our performance was good today, we controlled the game and created many chances but the referees failed us. Even if you play well you cannot win the game if the referees do not want because they are the ones who decides the game” he added.
Looking ahead, Coach Ramantsoe said the team is preparing to bounce back in upcoming matches. “We are improving step by step. Like any team we want to win and get better results. However, these games are tough because of the weather conditions that we are not used to in the highlands.” He explained.
To the fans he asked for patience from them and support “This is football, fans should not lose hope in the team. Hard work will bring rewards and we will deliver next time.” He promised.
Mzamane Fc will be looking forward to recover from this defeat as they host LMPS FC in a Premier League match that will be played at DIFA Maputsoe on Saturday. This will be their 9th game of the season.
