MASERU- For the second time in two seasons, Liqhomane Rugby Club has lost in a final at the hands of Mabote Beavers.
But this time around the loss was palpable, a 41-12 loss in their own backyard. The head coach of Liqhomane, Semethe Mosoeu said that this year, they had many injured players.
“The team did not play our usual game,” Mosoeu said.
“I don’t know if it’s fatigue of back to back matches before the final, or they came into this game already down,” he said.
After an embarrassing display in the final, Liqhomane is yet to beat Beavers.
“We started the season with fewer players, and we came into the final with three of key players injured,” he said, talking about injured backliners.
Liqhomane’s hunt for the first win over Beavers continues. For two straight years straight, they have settled for second position.
