MASERU- For the second time in two seasons, Liqhomane Rugby Club has lost in a final at the hands of Mabote Beavers. But this time around the loss was palpable, a 41-12 loss in their own backyard. The head coach of Liqhomane, Semethe Mosoeu said that this year, they had many injured players. "The team did not play our usual game," Mosoeu said. "I don't know if it's fatigue of back to back matches before the final, or they came into this game already down," he said. After an embarrassing display in the final, Liqhomane is yet to beat Beavers. MASERU- A total of 543 athletes competed in the second annual Maseru National Youth Games, and about 304 of them were girls. The Games were successfully held back in October. However, just last week the top performers of these games were honoured by the main sponsor Vodacom Lesotho together with the Lesotho National Olympic Committee (LNOC). As such, LNOC’s Vice President Finance, Dr. Lebohang Khomari has pleaded with these girls and girls generally in sports not to fall off sports now that they have paved their way in it. “I don’t know why you fall off ladies,” she urged. “Stay in sport, I beg you. MASERU- The year 2024 has been a rosy one for Mabote Beavers Ladies Rugby Club, with a palpable domince and two silverwares to show for it. The first trophy came in July when the team won King's Birthday Sevens Tournament that the Federation of Rugby Lesotho organised. They rounded off the year with another silverware last weekend for Beavers Ladies team, when they succesfully won the league championship. They beat Liqhomane ladies in the final to be crowned the 2024 league championship. they swept all the two trophies avaible to claim total dominace in women rugby this year.
