MASERU- The dominance that Lioli continues to exert on Bantu FC in the premier league has now stretched into the third season.
Bantu’s faithfuls had hoped for their fortunes to change, but the 2-0 mauling at the hands of their bitter rivals Lioli once again prolong their wait for better days.
But their then caretaker coach Kabelo Malapane was pleased with the performance on Sunday, and stated that they got punished and could not come back from the two goals.
“We just have to switch on; the league is a marathon,” Malapane said after the game on Sunday.
“It’s not about how you started, or how you fall, it’s all about how you switch on or how you finish. That’s just how the league is. Losing today does not mean we’re out automatically. We’ll keep soldiering on until we get there,” he said.
Bantu faces the other archrival Matlama this weekend, and Malapane was confident that his players will come out of that encounter on top.
“Today’s loss won’t demoralise us. I don’t think we can lose two games in a row, I don’t think so.
On the other hand, the winning coach admitted that things penned out how they planned.
“We maintained the objective, which was to win the game, that was our main objective,” Mohapi.
He also said that defending as a unit after leading by two goals helped his team, because that denied them a lot of space.
