MASERU – Lioli FC captain, Mafa Moremoholo, has praised the young players in the team, saying they are improving with every game. He believes their hard work and willingness to learn will make them great players in the future.
Speaking after Lioli’s 2-0 victory over LU FC at Bambatha, Moremoholo said he is happy to see young players growing in confidence.
“Bit by bit, they are growing, and I can see an improvement in every game. That makes me happy,” he said.
The captain also highlighted the role of senior players in helping the younger ones. He said experienced players are always guiding and supporting the youngsters, both during matches and in training.
“The senior players play an important role at Lioli FC. Even when they are on the bench, they cheer for the team and coach the young players here and there. This is something they also do during training sessions. They help the young players a lot, and that makes me happy as the captain,” he explained.
Moremoholo also spoke about the strong relationship between the older and younger players. He said there is no division in the team, which makes it easier for young players to learn.
“If you come to our training session, you would think we are all the same age. The older players do not make the young players feel small. This helps the young ones feel comfortable and free to talk to us about anything. It helps them grow and learn,” he added.
However, he also reminded the young players that listening to the coach is the most important thing.
“They must listen very well to what the coach tells them to do. I am happy because I can see that they are eager to listen and follow instructions,” he said.
With the support of senior players and the coach, Moremoholo believes the young players at Lioli FC have a bright future ahead of them.
